This small Fatima statue is crafted in Italy and hand-painted with the careful finishing that distinguishes Italian religious statuary from mass-produced pieces. Her mantle is a soft, pale blue, bordered with gold filigree that traces the edge like embroidery on a festival vestment. A golden crown rises from her veil, elaborate and solemn, marking her as Queen of Heaven. A small golden star at the hem of her mantle echoes an older Marian iconography, the star of the sea, guiding the faithful home. A rosary of gold beads falls from her joined hands.

At 4.5 inches, she is intimate in scale. She is made for a home altar, a nightstand, a prayer corner, a kitchen windowsill, or the shelf above a child's bed. Wherever the family gathers to pray the Rosary, she belongs there.
