About the Design

The sterling silver centers are die-struck, not cast. An antique Mexican steel die presses the image into each silver blank under high pressure, compressing the metal and producing sharper relief and crisper lettering than casting allows. This is the same method used for historic devotional medals, which is why the inscriptions remain legible at this small scale.

On the front of each charm, Our Lady of Guadalupe stands within a border that reads N.S.D. Guadalupe de México 1804. On the reverse, raised Latin letters beneath a burst of rays read Non fecit taliter omni nationi, from Psalm 147:20: He has not done thus for any other nation. These words express the place Our Lady of Guadalupe holds in Mexico's faith and history.

This Our Lady of Guadalupe bracelet is handmade in Mexico by a goldsmith whose workshop also supplies the gift shops of the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe. Every bezel, connecting link, and clasp is hand-formed from solid 14K yellow gold. Each bezel is shaped and closed by hand around its sterling silver center, and the bracelet is assembled link by link.
