About the Design
The charm is a small oval measuring 5 mm by 7 mm, not including the bail. The front shows Our Lady of Guadalupe as she appears on the tilma of Saint Juan Diego, surrounded by rays of light and standing above the angel at her feet, set against a softly textured background inside a polished gold border. The back is smooth and polished, ready for engraving.
The charm hangs from a small ring attached to a polished, folded bail that slides easily onto most fine chains. The back of the bail is stamped 14K and the maker's mark. The chain is not included.
About the Devotion
In December 1531, Our Lady appeared to Saint Juan Diego on the hill of Tepeyac, near Mexico City. As a sign to the bishop, she miraculously imprinted her image on his tilma, which is still venerated today at the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe.
