A Sacramental You Can Wear Every Day
Ten Saint Benedict medals circle the wrist, each one a small, silent prayer. This is the bracelet a woman puts on in the morning and keeps on through the hours that test her, a quiet reminder that the Cross of Christ goes before her.
Each .925 sterling silver medal is framed by a handmade solid 14K yellow gold bezel and joined by solid gold links. The bright silver against the warm gold keeps every letter and figure of the medal visible.
Guadalupe Gifts® created this Saint Benedict bracelet for the Catholic whose devotion is part of daily life, not saved for special occasions.
About the Design
This Saint Benedict medal bracelet carries ten double-sided sterling silver medals. One side shows Saint Benedict holding the Cross in one hand and his Rule in the other. The reverse shows the Cross of Saint Benedict surrounded by the Latin initials of its traditional prayers.
The sterling silver medals are die-struck, not cast. An antique Mexican steel die presses the design into each silver blank under high pressure, compressing the metal and producing sharper relief and crisper lettering than casting allows. This is the same method used for historic devotional medals, which is why the tiny Latin initials remain legible at this small scale.
The same goldsmith who sells work in the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe gift shops hand-makes it in Mexico. Artisans hand-form every bezel, connecting link, and lobster clasp from solid 14K yellow gold. Artisans hand-shape and close each bezel around its silver medal, and assemble the bracelet link by link.
The gold components are solid 14K yellow gold throughout, not plated or gold-filled. The medal centers are genuine .925 sterling silver with a bright finish. Known in Spanish as la pulsera de San Benito, this design complements our solid gold and sterling silver Our Lady of Guadalupe bracelet, made in the same workshop.
About the Devotion
Saint Benedict was born in Nursia, Italy, around the year 480. At Monte Cassino, he wrote the Rule of Saint Benedict, which shaped monastic life in the West for fifteen centuries. The Church honors him as the Father of Western Monasticism and the patron of Europe, and celebrates his memorial on July 11.
The letters on the medal hold a prayer of their own. In the angles of the Cross, C S P B stands for Crux Sancti Patris Benedicti, the Cross of our holy father Benedict. On the Cross itself, C S S M L and N D S M D mean Crux sacra sit mihi lux, non draco sit mihi dux: May the holy Cross be my light; let not the dragon be my guide. Around the edge, V R S N S M V S M Q L I V B abbreviates Vade retro Satana! Nunquam suade mihi vana! Sunt mala quae libas. Ipse venena bibas!: Begone, Satan! Never tempt me with your vanities. What you offer me is evil. Drink the poison yourself!
The Saint Benedict medal is a sacramental of the Church, not a charm. Its value comes from the merits of Christ crucified, the prayer of the Church, and the faith of the person who wears it. No particular way of wearing it is required, and many Catholics wear it as a constant reminder to reject evil and follow Christ.

Who This Bracelet Is For
This sterling silver and 14K gold Saint Benedict bracelet is for the woman who already turns to Saint Benedict's intercession and wants a substantial piece she can wear regularly and one day pass on as an heirloom.
It is a meaningful gift for mothers, grandmothers, and godmothers, and for adults entering the Church through Confirmation, OCIA, or reception into full communion. It also suits the memorial of Saint Benedict on July 11, Mother's Day and Día de las Madres, and anniversaries or other important moments of faith.
Care Instructions
Sterling silver darkens over time as it reacts with air. This is normal and easy to reverse. Wipe the bracelet with a soft, dry cloth after each wearing, and use a sterling silver polishing cloth when the silver begins to dull. Avoid liquid silver dips and abrasive cleaners, which can damage the solid gold and fine struck detail.
Remove the bracelet before showering, swimming, exercising, or applying perfume, lotion, or cosmetics. Store it flat in its box or a soft jewelry pouch, apart from other pieces that could scratch the gold.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the gold solid, plated, or filled?
The gold is solid 14K yellow gold. Each bezel, connecting link, and clasp is hand-formed from solid gold. No gold component is plated or gold-filled.
What are the medals made of?
Each of the ten medals is genuine .925 sterling silver, framed by a handmade solid 14K yellow gold bezel.
Are the medals die-struck or cast?
Die-struck. Each sterling silver medal is pressed from an antique Mexican steel die rather than poured into a mold. Die striking compresses the metal, producing sharper detail and more defined lettering than casting, which is why the Latin initials stay legible on a 10 mm medal.
Can I pray a decade of the Rosary on this bracelet?
The ten medals can be used to count the ten Hail Marys of a decade. It is designed as a Saint Benedict medal bracelet, not a decade rosary, so it does not include a crucifix or a separate Our Father bead.
What do the letters on the Saint Benedict medal mean?
They are the initials of Latin prayers. C S P B means the Cross of our holy father Benedict. C S S M L and N D S M D ask that the holy Cross be our light and the dragon never our guide. The letters around the edge reject Satan and his temptations.
Does the bracelet need to be blessed?
Many Catholics choose to have religious medals blessed. You can ask any priest or deacon to bless your bracelet after it arrives.
Can I wear it every day?
Solid 14K gold and sterling silver are suitable for regular wear. To protect the handmade details, remove the bracelet before swimming, showering, exercising, or applying lotions or perfume.
Does it come in a gift box?
Yes. Every bracelet arrives in a white jewelry gift box, ready for presentation.
The Guadalupe Gifts Promise
The Valerio family founded Guadalupe Gifts in Weston, Florida, to share Mexico's devotional craftsmanship with Catholic families. We make this bracelet entirely in Mexico: the sterling silver medals are die-struck from an antique Mexican die, and we hand-form and assemble the solid 14K gold bezels, links, and clasp.
We work directly with the artisans who make our jewelry, pay them fairly, and require safe working conditions and a prohibition on child and forced labor throughout our supply chain. We describe every material accurately: when a piece combines sterling silver and solid gold, we tell you exactly which components are made of each metal.
