The smallest medal in our Miraculous Medal collection, and one of the most quietly beautiful. This mini charm is made of solid 14K gold and measures just 5 mm by 7 mm, small enough to disappear under a collar while still keeping Our Lady close to your heart every day. Wear it alone on a fine chain, or beside our matching mini Virgen de Guadalupe charm.
About the Design
The charm is a small oval measuring 5 mm by 7 mm, not including the bail. The front shows Our Lady standing on the globe with her arms lowered and her hands open, rays of grace streaming from them, set against a softly textured background inside a smooth, polished gold border.
The reverse carries the traditional design of the Miraculous Medal: the letter M joined to a cross and a bar, surrounded by twelve stars, with the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary beneath it. The charm hangs from a small ring joined to a polished folded bail that slides easily onto most fine chains. The bail is stamped 14K. The chain is not included.
About the Devotion
In 1830, Our Lady appeared to Saint Catherine Labouré, a young Daughter of Charity in Paris, and asked her to have a medal struck according to the vision she was shown. The rays from Mary's hands, she explained, are the graces she gives to those who ask for them. The medal spread so quickly, and so many graces were attributed to it, that the faithful soon called it the Miraculous Medal.
The M and the cross on the reverse recall Mary standing at the foot of the Cross. The twelve stars recall the woman crowned with stars in the Book of Revelation, and the two hearts unite the love of the Son and the Mother. Like every sacramental, the medal is not a charm or a guarantee. Its meaning lives in the prayer and trust in Mary that it accompanies.

Frequently Asked Questions
How small is this Miraculous Medal?
The charm measures 5 mm by 7 mm without the bail, about a fifth of an inch wide and just over a quarter inch tall. It is the smallest Miraculous Medal in our collection.
Is this charm solid gold?
Yes. The charm and the bail are 14K solid yellow gold, and the bail is stamped 14K. It is not gold-filled, gold-plated, or gold vermeil.
Does it come with a chain?
No. The charm is sold separately, so you can wear it on a chain you already own or choose a new one. The bail fits most fine chains.
Can I wear it with the mini Virgen de Guadalupe charm?
Yes. Both charms share the same size, border, and bail, so they sit side by side naturally on one chain.
What do the symbols on the back of the Miraculous Medal mean?
The M stands for Mary, and a cross above it, joined by a bar, recalls her place at the foot of the Cross. The twelve stars recall the woman crowned with twelve stars in the Book of Revelation. The two hearts are the Sacred Heart of Jesus, crowned with thorns, and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, pierced by a sword.
Is this medal from the Chapel of Rue du Bac in Paris?
No. This is an imported 14K gold medal that reproduces the traditional design of the Miraculous Medal. If you are looking for medals from the Chapel of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal in Paris, see our Rue du Bac collection.
