A chain of small gold crosses, linked one after another around the neck. There is no pendant and no centerpiece: the cross is the chain itself. Stainless steel with a gold-tone finish, 15 inches with a 2-inch extension, so you can wear it close as a choker or let it rest at the collarbone.

About the Design
Each link is a small Latin cross with polished, rounded arms, joined to the next by a small round ring. The crosses lie sideways along the chain, so from the front you see a continuous line of crosses instead of a single pendant. Each cross measures about 13 by 5 mm.
The base metal is 316L stainless steel, which does not rust and holds up to sweat and daily wear far better than brass. The yellow gold color is a finish applied over the steel. This is not solid gold and not gold-filled. It is a durable, everyday piece made to be worn, not kept in a drawer.
How to Wear It
At 15 inches, the chain sits high on the neck like a choker, with the crosses framing the base of the throat. Let it out to 17 inches,s and it drops to the collarbone, which works well with an open collar or a V-neck.
For layering, wear it as your shortest chain and add a medal or scapular on an 18- or 20-inch chain below it. The cross chain gives you a line of texture at the top, and the medal anchors the center.
Finding Your Fit
Wrap a soft measuring tape around the base of your neck and add 1 to 2 inches. If the result is 17 inches or less, this chain will fit comfortably. Most women and teens fall in that range. Many men will find 17 inches too snug, so measure before you order.
Who This Necklace Is For
- Confirmation
- An adult coming into the Church through OCIA
- Mother's Day or a birthday
- Matching necklaces for a mother and daughter, or two sisters
- Anyone who wants to wear the cross every day without a pendant
Why a Chain of Crosses
"May I never boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ" (Galatians 6:14). Catholics trace the sign of the cross on themselves when they wake, before meals, and before they sleep. This chain carries the same sign all the way around, a quiet profession of faith you can wear to work, to Mass, or anywhere else.
The cross is not a charm, and the metal has no power of its own. What it does is remind you, in the middle of an ordinary day, to whom you belong.

Care
Stainless steel is forgiving, but the gold finish lasts longer with a little care. Keep perfume, hairspray, and lotion away from the chain, and put your jewelry on last. Remove it before swimming in a pool or the ocean, since chlorine and salt wear down the finish over time. If it gets wet, pat it dry with a soft cloth. Store it flat so the cross links do not tangle.
Questions
Is this real gold?
No. The chain is 316L stainless steel with a gold-tone finish. If you are looking for solid gold, see our Solid Gold collection.
Is this a crucifix?
No. These are plain crosses without the corpus of Christ. If you prefer a crucifix, see our Gold Scapular and Crucifix Layered Necklace Set.
Can men wear this necklace?
Yes, if it fits. The chain reaches 17 inches at its longest, which is snug on most men. Measure the base of your neck and add 1 to 2 inches. If that comes to more than 17, this chain will be too short.
Is this necklace waterproof?
Yes, for everyday life. The chain is 316L stainless steel, which doesn't rust so that you can wear it through hand washing, rain, and a workout without worry. To keep the gold color bright for years, take it off for long showers, pools, and the ocean, since soap, chlorine, and salt wear any finish down over time.
Is it hypoallergenic?
The chain is 316L stainless steel, the same grade used for body jewelry and surgical tools. It releases very little nickel, and most people with sensitive skin wear it without trouble. If you have a severe nickel allergy, check with your doctor first.
Will it turn my skin green?
Green marks usually come from copper alloys such as brass. Stainless steel does not react with skin that way.
Is it blessed?
No. You are welcome to take it to your parish priest, who can bless it for you.
